In wartime, shelters are not only about safety, but also about providing children with a sense of support, care, and a normal childhood even during times of anxiety. That is why we are starting to equip part of the shelter as a comfortable and functional children's space where children can stay in more dignified and adapted conditions.
This space will be:
• child-friendly
• comfortable for staying during prolonged air raid alerts
• suitable for educational, informational, and developmental activities

The children's space will operate within the framework of the project "Providing secondary education institutions with the necessary equipment and knowledge in emergency situations related to military aggression in frontline communities of Ukraine," which is being implemented as part of the project "Empowering War-Affected Communities in Ukraine through Local Initiatives" (EMPOWER), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in cooperation with the European Union and implemented by GIZ Ukraine.
