The initiative group of the NGO Heart began its activities in February 2022, providing assistance to affected populations and internally displaced persons from the frontline areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
After evacuation from active combat zones, these individuals were under the care of the organization in compact living centers. The organization provided comprehensive multi-sectoral support, including:
• food packages;
• non-food assistance (winter blankets, pillows, bed linen);
• autonomous power supply devices (power banks, generators);
• legal and psychological consultations.
A separate stage of the organization’s activities was the implementation of a project to replace windows and set up a children’s space in one of the largest compact living centers in the city of Nikopol.
Starting in 2025, the NGO Heart expanded its areas of activity and focused on addressing the needs of children and teaching staff in the field of education under emergency conditions caused by military actions. In particular, the organization’s activities are aimed at:
• equipping shelters and safe spaces in educational institutions;
• ensuring uninterrupted power supply;
• providing knowledge and practical skills necessary in emergencies, including first aid and handling explosive devices.
